Car runs like crap with cone filter...

It stumbles with the K&N filter on and runs way better with the stock air box... what's the deal. I tried plugging up the holes in the cone filter adapter I got from ebay because I thought that was the problem, but it didn't change anything.

What about the little air sensor. Does it need to be in there? Cause I have it in there now. I cut a hole in the cone filter. But there is no change when I disconnect it... What's the deal?

yeah in my case mine ran like total shit with cone air filter, turns out the adaptor (again, ebay... damnit it was a mistake) didn't fit the mafs very well and it was blocked the section of the mafs that meters air.
show me some pics of your POS ebay adaptor.

ths sensor is the intake temp sensor doen't have to be in there to work i know someone's that doesn't work or read right and runs fine might be turbulent air hitting the mass air flow sensor there is a tsb for 300zx for rough idle for aftermarket filters or modded air boxes not saying this is it but another possibility

I don't have a picture of the adapter, but it has 8 holes total. The inner 4 leave a gap open to the inside of the MAF as well as on the curve of the MAF. I guess my adapter is just crap.

Any clue where I could find a good one or should I just try to make my own or something?

JWT should be able to hook you up with a good one. I think JGY customs has a plastic one that works... any decent nissan tuner should have a hook up.
for a quick fix just put the stock airbox back in.

yeah I put the airbox back in... for future reference, should I just stick the sensor in between the cone and the adapter?

I did find a picture: http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sel...es/Adapter.jpg
