is $300 a good price for a S14 lsd?... everything is included for my direct bolt on.. let me know what you think if its good or not!

how many miles man... if its fairly low then i would have to say thats a pretty good deal, not the best but pretty good.

miles are unknown... the diff came from japan.. what are the possibilities of it not working?

the possibilities of it not working are probably pretty slim to none man, it will probably work fine, but you have to think it was probably beat on pretty hard if it came from japan. here in the states the popularity with 240's isnt as hardcore as it is in japan yet, they have been driving these things hard from day 1. i cant tell you what to do man, but be wary.

what is the lifespan of a lsd anyways? What goes wrong with them? Do they ever need to be repaired/replaced?

Normally these diffs never have to be replaced.

Most common problem with vlsd's is that over time the viscous fluid breaks down, and losses some of it's viscosity. 100K miles and the locking action on the diff is probably much slower than it was new.

also with any diff that has been drifted/raced with, you may have to change the bearings which is a bitch and very expensive for parts...about 200 bucks worth of bearings in there.
