It's coming to the US in 2003. The RX-8, (introduced at concept RX-Evolv) is the 4 door, suicide doors in rear, no B-pillar, 2 rotor 250hp, more fuel efficient than normal piston engine Mazda fun machine. I can't wait.

Check out future vehicles under mazda's vehicle link.

www.mazda.co.jp, has stuff too.

well original plans slated for a 2.1L 3-rotor sort of like an N/A 20B, RENESIS engine. I think we're still getting a 1.3L RENESIS engine sort of like a higher revving N/A 13b. the only problem is the torque output. rotary engines really NEED turbochargers to help them produce torque. however, the output in HP and torque will be pretty similar to the S2000, as well as the handling. I'm pretty sure they're tring to go after the s2000's market alot...it looks alot like it, the power is similar, similar handling and RWD. only problem is isnt not a drop-top, but it DOES seat 4 (not that thats a very big plus).

i'll be very interested to see how it actually does sales-wise...and performance wise, when someone releases a turbo (or maybe) supercharger kit, like the atkins centrifugal rotary blower

The pwoerplant is incredible. The thing makes 250hp @8000 natural and it spins to 11 minimum (something about laws that they cannot advertise power over 8 in north america or something) the engine is freakin amazing. The torque is not as big a deal as in most cars cause the engine weights nothing and so will the car. I have looked at that thing 100 times and it looks cooler all the time. I bet HKS or Greddy will have a turbo for it within the year (if mazda doesn't do it themsleves) and the thing will make 400hp in no time with low boost. Adios Wenkel hello Renesis.

if it wasn't a 4-door, I'd like it. it doesn't look like it, but I still don't like the fact that that sports car is 4-doors. it's alright, but I would most definately take a 7 over the 8 any day. same with the Z32 and Z33 (350 ZX)...ANY day. and if they come out with a Supra, I would take a 94-98 Supra over it. they try to match the looks and unique figures of these cars, but they make them so, so, nasty! I didn't want to have to say nasty, but gee golly molly!

I think it's fugly. . I'm sorry. . I just do. . hehe
I love the RX-7. . kinda sad to see it gone. .
The concept of more than two doors on a "coupe" just reminds me of a #### Saturn SC2. . and that's a turn off. .
