S13 240sx Breakdown By Model

Here are some more juicy numbers for those of you who ever wondered what the S13 breakdown was by model. These are USA production numbers.

ZENKI:
'89-'90 S13 Coupe: 33,739
'89-'90 S13 Hatchback: 95,099

CHUKI:
'91-'93 S13 Coupe: 24,555
'91-'93 S13 Hatchback: 57,495
'92-'94 S13 Convertible: 8,065

Total S13 Coupes: 58,294 (~26%)
Total S13 Hatchbacks: 152,594 (~70%)
Total S13 Convertibles: 8,065 (~4%)

We all knew there were more hatches made than coupes but its always nice to see a number.

and i believe the rarest of the bunch are 93 hatchbacks. ive only ever seen a handful of them. 89 and 91 are the most common years. all 94 coupes are left over 93 production models as nissan couldnt sell the convertables (no one wanted them).

Dude, did you not read the data in front of you like at all? Between 91-93, Nissan put out 32,940 more fastbacks than coupes and 51,788 more fastbacks than verts. How does that make it rare?

You may not have stumbled across a hatch in your area often but that doesn't make it the least produced--by a long shot.

i think he was saying of all the 89-90/91-93 hatchbacks produced, the 93 model years are rarer.

not like it matters, you're still getting close to nothing for these cars

They made 15,068 hatchbacks for 1993. So use that information as you will.

Are there any differences from 91, 92, 93? I have a '93 base model and other than chassis color, I don't see the rarity of it.

Dorki mentions that leftover 93's were stamped with '94, so if it is true, it would be classified as a '94 but produced in '93.

Usually vehicles manufactured from June onwards will be for the next year model. So 06/93 would be a '94. The last 1391 convertibles were made from 06/93 to 08/93, and are labeled as 1994 models.

Open your driver side door and check the sticker. If you no longer have the sticker then PM me your VIN# and I can tell you everything about your car.

Sure thing. I can only tell you information about what your car was equipped with from the factory. If you want vehicle history as far as how many miles were on it and how many owners it has been through, accidents etc... You will have to look into something like Carfax.

These numbers are actually rather depressing. I always thought there where more 240's out there.

200k units over 5 years is pretty bad, especially considering Mustang has moved over 100k a year for last 20 years.

well look at the drop post 96, when the whole yen to dollar tanking thing happened. and remember the 90s weren't the golden years for selling Japanese sports cars like we live in now. Japanese car manufacturers were really STILL trying to prove themselves. since that level has been established because of the import boom in the states over the last 13 years, I think if Nissan had a 240sx successor now (or even back in 2004 when drifting started getting big), the sales figures for its RWD, 4 cyl sports cars would've differed GREATLY between the two decades.
