OBX RB25DET Turbo Elbow fitment

Well this is not a question just a statement perhaps. I hope this helps out some other fellow rb owners who have steering column fitment problems when doing the rb to s14 swap.

I have my engine (rb25det) mounted on an r33 crossmember into an s14. I had the typical column clearance issues and ended up grinding down the stock elbow. Due to a major leak at the flange i had to change my elbow and got the obx ebay elbow. It has about 1/2" of clearance from the steering column but i did have to widen some of the holes to make this thing align. Hope this helps anyone that needs info on these elbows. I searched for hours and didnt find any input on the fitment or performance of these things. I know the other ebay elbows do not fit and need mods but this thing is like a glow minus the holes lol. If anyone needs more info pm or post here.

Stock r33 mounts with r33 crosmember from what i recall. I think s14 and r33 mounts are very similar.

Your mileage may very with this elbow.

For starters the elbow isn't a drop in replacement. Or at least mine isn't.

Also the elbow doesn't even come close to fitting around the steering shaft.

This is a "OBX" version not the non-OBX version on ebay.

But who knows maybe they just copied the "OBX" plate.

My setup is S14, RB25DET with R33 crossmember and nismo motor mounts

I purchased it from:
Super Saver Accessories Home Page

And of course they want a 25% restocking fee.

Mine was the ebay version. I do recall having issues aligning it but mine cleared the steering rack way better than stock. Did you snap any fitment pix?

Are you planning to wrap the elbow?

I can't get the elbow even on, the wastegate pipe is hitting the steering shaft.

It looks like even if I shorten the wastegate pipe I'll still have interference with the main pipe, that'll need to be dented to clear the shaft.

Odd. May be yours is slightly different because of the mounts or the elbow itself is fucked up. Someone pm'ed me a while back asking about the elbow fitment, the person got the ebay one and said it worked, so i dont know what to tell you but that sucks balls that it does not fit.

The elbow is just hanging on the bottom turbo studs, the DP isn't installed.

Shit idk what to tell yah might be the nismo mounts since last i checked they make the engine sit lower or higher, but obviously it would be easier to get some other solution for the elbow than running different mounts.
