Is it a bad thing they don't make altezza's for our cars?Besides custom taillights I can't think of any available aftermarket taillights for a S14, if you give clearcorners.com enough money they would make what ever you like (they don't make altezza's though)

I bought a pair of the clear bumper lenses for my 95 and it was worth the money. I got them for 90 bux through jspec. It finishes off the look in front of all clear lenses I think. I also know Mike at ClearCorners and I think his work is very clean and well done. I have only seen his third brake light for the S14, his S13 conversions and rear lights. Pretty kewl.

its unfortunate im sick of the altezza lights- Although they look good on the IS, im even sick of the lights of the actual car they are even supposed to be on! the new altima rear tail lights are altezza-like but imho they look alright (need time to get used to?) .

Hehe close but no cigar. The pic of the tail light is just a prototype.. with an LED behind it.. not even sealed, just a prototype run of the mill pic. What can I say, I needed something for the site..
The finished 95-96 tails will look amazing, I can promise you that. They will actually look better than the 97-98 tails.. which I really like too. BUT, the 95-96'ers will look MEAN. Stay tuned, I'll post pics as soon as they're available.. kit is expected to cost around $600. - Mike / ClearCorners.Com ps: Monique, thanks for the compliments on our products. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Quote: from vancouvers14 on 6:42 am on Nov. 19, 2001 mike at clearcorners has a led s14 taillight, but its just stock lenses with leds. about 400 for the taillights and 150 for the 3rd brake. looks ok, but not worth the price. </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> (Edited by old s13 at 6:15 pm on Nov. 19, 2001) |

I must say...The quality of products that comes from www.clearcorners.com is unbelievable! I have the clear front sidemarkers for my '96 from him, and they have been no trouble whatsoever. Customer service is also of top notch quality! Plain and simple, if you order from www.clearcorners.com you will not be sorry! *steps down from podium* "Thank you...Thank you..."

Uhh yeah...but 600 bucks isn't for spray tinting your tails. It's for a custom retrofit LED tail light system. A helluva lot better than our standard incandesants. =)

The picture you posted is obviously of your car's tail lights which have been blacked out with a $15 dollar can of translucent "smoke" paint. I am not trying to diss you, your car, or your work.. but understand that your $15 dollar modification is *what it is* -- stock S14 tail lights that were spray coated.
I am not going to bring up details like performance, longevity, and detail. I dont know how bright your lights now shine, how long they'll remain shiney, or wether or not there are any imperfections up-close. This is not my business, because I do not sell your modification. Besides, if I ever did sell a $15 dollar can of paint.. I would sell it for just that, $15 dollars. I dont plan on raping my customers bro.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> As for the products listed on my site, I am grateful that people respect my work and appreciate my service. I didnt open ClearCorners to make billions, I run it because its fun. Years later, the business is still fun.. and its still a side-business.. but its obviously expanded quite a bit. I'de hope so, I put a lot of work into it. The $600 tail lights which I mentioned are not listed on the site, and arent available until I am done with them. You're more than welcome to judge my work when its done, but in the meantime.. settle down. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Personally, I beleive there is no such thing as "too much" when it comes to custom work. Everyone has their OWN concept of what "too much" means. That is why some people own Corvettes, others own 360 Modena's, and even less own McLaren F1's. All of them are amazing cars.. but there's a BIG difference when it comes to attention to detail.. and this is where the monetary figures come up. Sorry if this is getting long and winded.. but as a business owner I sometimes take things like this personally. When I started the site, sidemarkers were $65/pair and they looked $65/pair. Now the sidemarkers cost $100/pair.. and they look like factory. A lot of our products look like or exceed OEM specs.. so I dont worry as much. Like I said, as the owner.. I feel much more comfortable selling less-volume, higher-quality. Its this mentality that keeps MY customers, MY customers. Most NISSAN enthusiasts who buy from me enjoy knowing that my products are not mass-produced and cant be purchased at Pep Boys, like APC's Altezza knock-offs. I take pride in my products knowing that I am not selling mass-produced crap for the "common car." - Mike / ClearCorners.Com </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Quote: from vancouvers14 on 3:48 am on Nov. 20, 2001 i just did my lights this weekend. $15 plus 6 hours. $600 is just too much for lights IMHO </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> (Edited by old s13 at 6:54 am on Nov. 20, 2001) |

i'm not trying to knock your business , workmanship, quality, or anything else. i'm just saying that i'd kick my own ass if i spent $600 on taillights. i'm sure you're not making a ton of profit on them, that's not what i'm saying at all. its just that unless you have a show car (and I think there is only one member here who does), how could you justify spending that much for lights. besides, my $15 solution looks better than any other option out right now.

hehe no problem.. I hope that didnt come off too rude.. I just wanted to speak my point of view on this. Its tough because you never know who will stumbled on this link and judge your work/business.
I've been there tho.. I had plenty of DIY mods when I first started out. Take a look at this funny collage' i made up a couple months ago.. ![]() ![]() (Edited by old s13 at 10:48 am on Nov. 20, 2001) |

ah.. exactly my point. After all these years of being on the lists, forums and receiving over 300 letters per week.. you learn not to be so quick to judge. Many mods look subtle and are really INSANE. Others are of course, quite the opposite.
Like I said, I understand where you're coming from. Shit, I am not that far away.. just a couple years ahead.. no biggie. I've always beleived in the DIY custom mods that dont always cost big bucks. To this day, its obvious that I dont have a turbo motor, 5 or 6 speed, LSD, or anything "super" that most people are easily impressed with. I just focus on the small things now.. so that when I do splurge.. its all ready to go. I pay attention to those details!! ![]() Keep up the good work. Like I said, it took me 5-6 years to finally have the 180SX tail lights and the headlight kit that I've been dreaming about since day 1. All you gotta do is take it one day at a time.. ![]() - Mike ps: Its *champagne* gold.. only the 89-90 came in that color! Haha but I got love for ya!!! ![]() (Edited by old s13 at 11:46 am on Nov. 20, 2001) |

Hey Mike,
I love the little collage. Can you send that to me since i do not know how to save it off the forum? Seeing your car makes me wanna get a S13 all over again. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> Monique |

you see, I will spend money on some things but not on others. I spent 2K for wheels, but i couldn't justify spending $200 for interior "stickers" (you know, the carbon fiber ones). so i just did it myself. when you have some pics of the s14 lights, post em. who knows, i just may be one of the first to call you about em.

Gawd...you guys are sparkin' up a lotta funny memories for me. It really is about the little things that sets your car apart from the rest. That's why I love doing small "mods" like that. Such as my red illuminated gauge cluster...even my turn signal arrows are red. Don't ask me how I did that... it took me so long do get that part right...I actually bought transparent red plastic cups and used a couple layers and cut them to the same shape as the old green ones from the cluster. I "heat welded" them together...LOL Took a soldering iron and melted the edges together pretty much...then stuck them in. Looks sweet though. I'll try and post some pics if I can. It's those little things that you do to your car that not many people may notice, but you take a lot of pride in, because it's different. That's the fun part about modifying your car!
PS BTW Mike...I think your color was called Champagne Pearl...at least according to SoCal's color chart. My '95 sales brochure lists Vancouver's color as Champagne Gold... <a href="http://www.socal240sx.org/faq/colorchart.html" target='_blank'>http://www.socal240sx.org/faq/colorchart.html</a> (Edited by nismo270r at 2:15 pm on Nov. 21, 2001) |

when i took apart my gauge cluster, i was actually gonna take out the green turn signals and put in clears. but i didn't have time, and then i forgot about it. at some i'm gonna make all my interior gauges/lights/etc all the same color. i love the little projects just cause no-one else has em

I like doing things myself too. Mike, your 240collage looks really dope. I like the front headlights on the pop-ups. Did you still only have one bulb, or is there more modifications to that? I also want to do something weird with mine, but I don't have a garage and can't find all the supplies I need.
Where are you guys located? |
