![]() I was trying to put in cp 86.5mm 8.5:1 compression pistons and I noticed on the oem piston that it had kind of like a cut out specifically for the oiler.
So I put the piston down into the cylinder and spun the crank to its lowest point and the oiler didn't hit it but it was extremely close. does anyone know the clearance from the piston to the oiler? has anyone grinded the pistons down in that area, to get a little more clearance? kind of a weird question, I just don't want a oiler breaking off for such a simple fix. |

You'll be fine... You can't hyper extend or rotate the crank and have the piston travel further down the cylinder unless you blow a rod through the block. In that case oiler clearance is the least of your issues.

As far as I know, they do. He is worried about the close proximity it comes to when at BDC.
