3D 240sx printing

Not intending to market them, but what we have here is a online 3d printer.
So i searched the site for 240sx related parts, and here are the results.
Im hoping we could add more to the folder.

Also, Photoshop is getting into 3d printer support. So hopefully we can make our own parts (given they require low pressure)

I dunno about making parts for a car with a 3d printer.... I doubt they'll come out right and fitment would probably be horrible.

Depends on what you're making. Worked fine for me.

Yeah the shift knob is lame, lol.
And ive seen some pretty complicated parts printed. It all depends on the cad design.
We need to add to the parts library.

3d printer

Okay, how about creating a plastic replica of the fiberglass trim that bonds to the sunroof glass for an S14?
Nissan still sells the rubber weatherstrip so you could bond the "3D Printed" plastic trim to your glass with an appropriate adhesive, install new oem weatherstrip and be sunroof happy!
Okay..... someone do this . Please. Could maybe sell a hundred or two.

Also: if any of youse guys have any partial pieces/broken trim pieces, I would love to get them to possibly make a master for a mold to replicate this part in fiberglass. I'll pay shipping! And send you a sticker?
I'm in Pensacola area.

For protyping and one offs it makes sense. For production of more than one or two units, no. The surface needs a lot of finishing as well. I use my desktop printer occasionally for HID retrofit related parts- bracketry, etc. I even printed a fully enclosed back housing/bucket for my motorcycle.

What's a price range on a desktop printer? It would be nice to have one to print random stuff I usually come up with.

They are anywhere from $1500-5000. I have a previous model makerbot which is on the lower end of that range. Be prepared to deal with little finicky issues with desktop printers and it takes a while to get it to print well. You may have to use a space heater, play with computer and physical printer settings, etc.

It's still great stuff once you get it down to the cad design. I've made a lot of prototyping and sent the cad work to machinists to make stuff ranging from random brackets to even cylinders to press out old bushings out of tool steel (much better than using new sockets).
