Altima question. Will 3.5 SER transmission work on 2.5?

I have a 2003 2.5 altima and was thinking about a manual swap, Ive been doing some research, but cant seem to find the answer to this question. Will the SER v6 6 speed transmission work with the 2.5? I know the Sentra 6 speed can work, but not sure if maybe the v6 had the same or similar transmission as well. Probably not, but figured I would ask anyhow.

Im not asking whether or not the swap is worth it, just if the transmission will work.

Let me get this straight - You're asking if you a mate a FWD VQ35DE 6spd trans from an Altima SER to your QR25DE?

I guess anything is possible with enough money and resources. Might wanna go try asking on a Sentra/Altima forum or googling 'QR25DE 6spd swap'. Not gonna do your homework for you.

I'll keep my opinions to myself on the merits of this swap idea.

Whats the chance a transmission from a V-6 will be a bolt on affair to a 4-banger?

well, there is a kit to do this for the 350z's rwd 6spd trans to mount up to the 4 banger rwd SR20, but I don't know if anyone gives enough of a fuck about fwd to build something like that for Sentras & Altimas...

Maxima guys do this with the Sentra 6MT, using the Maxima bellhousing. (02-03).

If you choose to use the SER trans on an Altima 2.5 you will need to use your 2.5 bellhousing.

However, I'm not sure if your axles and shifter cables need to be different as well.

Seems easier to get a Sentra Spec V 6MT...
