so im driving home from work minding my own business listening to my chevelle (band) and this black Evo come outta nowhere, he lines up (we're going like 50-55 probably) i put it in third (bad choice but ehh) we both hit it and he pulls little by little, like a 1/4 car link then he shifts into 3rd i think and im only at like 5200 rpm so i pull ahead quite a bit and im like 1/2-3/4 car ahead then i shift to 4th and i pull some more and its over... we slow down a bit to talk a sec, i ask him how much boost he is running, he says stock 18, i was surpised stock was that high, but then we went our different ways...

i was thouroughly surprised that i took an EVO... thought i would share, oh yea i cant imagine how bad i would have won if i had shifted into 2nd instead of 3rd...

btw i was boosting 13psi

I don't care about kill stories normally but....

Why would shifting to 2nd have been better? we redline around 60 mph in second and if you were already going 50-55 mph then you would have hit redline almost instantly and he would taken off when you shifted. Anyway, keep it safe....

and maybe it was Michael Schumacher. Evo's are great from a dig but, in stock form they aren't highway monsters. He probably didn't even have a reflash. Without the reflash, the Evo's boost hits 18/19psi and falls off in the upper RPMs.

the thing with most awd is that it's freaking heavy, and the 271 hp isn't at the wheels...

but evo's are cool, wouldn't mind driving one...

im not saying your wrong, i mean i agree street racing is wrong, but i gotta get that rush every once in a while. some people who race are idiots and do it in 5 'o clock traffic, which i think is super wrong (yea yea wrong is wrong), and it might sound stupid but i try to be safe whenever i do stupid stunts like this... i dont weave in and out of traffic, actually if there was traffic i wouldnt even do it... well i guess you get the point...

so i read this thread and thought it was damn funny because i have a similar story to tell
the other night iwent to put air in my half flat tire that leaks all the time and the air machine at chevron was broken....as i walked back to my car i saw an evo pulling out of the parking lot and decided to follow him, i finally caught up to him and kinda floored it by him and he caught up to me at the light....hehehe so we took off and our cars were even all the way to about 80 was a damn good race then as i slowed down i saw a ford lighting just catching up LOL i didnt even notice him but we had a three car race going....i was damn happy and then raced the ford to 2nd gear then slowed down cuz i didnt feel safe anymore near busy streets but that was a cool night the evo was a cool guy too anywayz just thought i would share this relevant story

deers suck, but so far ive managed to avoid any collisions with them on the mountain. although in the morning a few weeks ago i had a deer almost jump over a guard rail into the side of my car and then almost get clobbered by a land rover. stupid animals.

I raced a Park Ranger on the Highway at 3am when i lived in Indiana...I was comin on the highway and he passed by me...Put his Crown vic in neutural and revved on me at around 65+... i looked at him he smiled and i laughed...So he gunned it...I played a little bit, but i didnt wanna get pulled over...Well i waved and let off and he flew by me at about 100. when i got to the next exit he jumped back on and pulled me over for doing 80. I was dumbfounded lol...I fought it and won. But i dont race people on the street...3am on a tuesday morning no traffic what so ever. and i only played for about 1/4 mile...if even that, but the bastard pulled me over like nothin happened...I didnt argue with him becuse i was tired and didnt feel like doing drunk tests...I woulda failed even though i wasnt drunk

Also my friend who has a new Silver SRT-4...was driving home...( he lives in the woods ) he was going about 40 and a deer ran into him...tacoed the hood. busted the head lights, ripped the bumper. Nothin happened to his Intercooler or anything engine wise...but he had a nice big chunk of deer in his bumper
