s14 brake upgrade question

When upgrading to a z32 brake master cylinder and z32 calipers I can still use my stock hardline into the master and the stock s14 soft line into the caliper when upgrading correct? front upgrade only right now

Your gonna have to bend one of the hard lines to the mc. And you will have to buy conversion lines. Frsports sells them pretty cheap.

I would do the brakes first. Then see how they feel to you.

You might not mind the way they feel with the stock master.

also id look at the size of your master cylinder since automatic s14's come with a 15/16 master and thicker brake booster for assistance, and if i remember right there was one year on z32 that came with a 15/16 so id try bolting up thoze calipers with proper conversion lines / rotor set up and try it out and see how you like the pedal feel.

also just a tip, on thoze stock brake lines in the wheel wells where they transfer over from hard line to soft the 10mm bolt is easy to strip so id pb blast it or wd40 like a day prior and use a flare wrench to have more surface contact to avoid stripping.

OK perfect yeah my car was a 95 s14 automatic so if they are both 15/16 I'll start with the stock one and go from there.

What pad do you guys recommend for front?? This will be a street driven v8 with occasional drift

Yea, I ran the HPS on Z32 front/rear on my S14 and they worked great for daily and a few short course track days.
Not noisey, dont require any real warm up like some full race pads, and dont dust too bad for a higher performance pad.

I have a 4pot Wilwood setup upfront using Z rears with the stock S14 MC and booster.

Verify the size of your master cylinder. My 97 auto has a 7/8" MC. But I understand the auto brake booster provides more assist. The S14 with ABS came with 15/16" MCs.

I think I'm using Centric ceramic pads. Currently also in the process of upgrading to a 1" Z32 MC and retrofitting ABS.
