FWD sr20de throttle body on rwd sr20det

well i had asked this on here, and couldnt get a definate answer.
my goal was to have a PLUG AND PLAY throttle body swap on my s14 sr.
why you ask? i wanted to retain cruise control.
i tryed ka throttle body. tps is totally different, butterfly hits manifold, and the throttle cables are pulled at a VERy awkward angle. i hear it works on s13 sr though. (high port vs low port, ya know?)
finding a rwd s14 sr20de tb is VERY hard, let alone one with cruise. (i have yet to confirm it was even offered, but i would think it was)
so it dawned on me. 1994-1996 INFINITY G20 & 95-97 200SX are sr20de. i took a look and the Tps matched. so i picked one up today and tried it.
what do you know, perfect fit. cinderella found the shoe that fit, lol.
also it is a larger inner diameter for those of you that want that throttle response too!
i thought this may be helpful in faq, revised of course.
-devon

p.s. i know its a well known fact that rwd sr20de tb works. this is proving that fwd sr20de tb works, and has the extra rotor to allow cruise to be used.

S13 guys don't need to upgrade the TB since they all come standard with a 60mm TB. S14 sr20det guys have a 50mm tb hence the upgrade. Only the s14/s15 sr20de (n/a) motors came with the 60mm tb. Good find, and great work.

Yes, old thread. BUT this thread keeps turning up in my searches for installing cruise control in my S14 SR. Figure I can provide a small update. My apologies if this is already common knowledge.

The P11 (99-02) G20 throttle body bolts up, and the throttle position sensor can be swapped over without an modifications. The S14 TPS wiring also plugs into the top connector if you don't want to switch sensors around. The bottom one is for auto trans WOT/Closed switches, leave unplugged.

Here are some pics of a 99 G20 throttle body and my S14 SR20DET throttle body:

P11 left, S14 Right.

S14 left, P11 right. Essentially identical.

P11 left, S14 right. TPS sensors. Use top plug on P11 for a true PnP affair.

Cleaned up P11 TB with S14 TPS installed. Need to fabricate a cable bracket since nothing really lines up anymore. Too bad the OPs pics don't work.

Installed. On S14 the left coolant line comes strait out, but there's enough hose to connect to P11. It has one vacuum port, the S14 TB has 2, but one is plugged anyway.

Hope this helps future searchers.

Hey man I was running the same p11 tb on my redtop for a few months but then I noticed the throttle body seals leaking under boost. I swapped back to a different stock s13 sr tb and it's never been an issue since.
I have 2 theories either the p11 have different seals that don't hold boost as well or being that I live in Arizona I feel the seals could
Also be old and dried out. Especially since I got my throttle body from a junkyard out here who knows how long it was exposed to the az heat.

Thanks for the heads up. Something I will pay attention to when I get this installed.

Ive been running a G20 throttle body on my notchtop for a while now. It's good to note that on top of having the extra pulley for cruise control, it's also 10mm larger.
