the best thing i could say is to polish the shit out of them to get rid of the sharp edges from the detonation...it will help get rid of the hot-spots and help it from cracking, no guarentee though..suggest pulling it out to do that but i understand how much work that is...going that far u may as well replace it. + u DO not want to get any grit/paper on the cylinder walls...put that piston on TDC and give it some loving...do not polish around the edges of the piston...from time to time feel the indentions with ur fingers. continue to where they are smooth and not "scratchy/edgy" to the touch...do not try to remove them completely it will remove too much material, ur just getting rid of the rough edges and lightly smoothing it out from the detonation
.
IM not responsible for any damages after and/or during:

Piston detonation. Chance of getting fixed?

This is a spare head my buddy gave me. I can take everything apart and get it to a machine shop if needed to. Head has similar marks. Was a timing issue. Longblock has forged rods and Pistons. If it's fixable it won't run over 12 psi boost.

Seeing the spots on the edge makes me leary. You are going to at least pull the pistons to debur the edge. Sand down the rest of the spots then have the tops(above the ringlands) sandblasted smooth. Up to the sandblaster to tell you how smooth they can get it.
