Beck/Arnley = OE? Made in Japan? NABCO/TOKICKO?
What's up everyone,
I'm getting ready to replace my Slave cylinder and Master since my autozone one is crapping out. I have Competition Clutch 6 puck White bunny kit so I figure it would happen sooner or later. So I'm getting the OE Slave/CMC cause I refuse to give any more of my money to those parts stores especially for cheap ass quality. My friend just order a clutch master cylinder for his 5 Speed swap from Rock Auto. He order the Beck/Arnley one because it apparently meets or surpasses OES Specifications...His box came and it said made in Japan and was in Nissan wrapping with original part number ![]() Is this a one off deal? or does Beck/Arnley actually supplies the OE parts? |

It depends on the product.
I've ordered 3 brake master cylinders and all 3 have been Nabco. Some suspension replacements that I bought for my S14 were half made in Japan and Half in Taiwan. All in all they are known to carry good stuff though. I wouldn't hesitate to use their stuff. Hope that helped.

Beck/Arnley is the manufacturer of the same exact parts you'd receive from the dealer, but without the markup because it's not always in an OEM-labeled box. Whether it's OE-replacement or aftermarket I'm the same strict when it comes to buying parts, I wouldn't trust those shitty store-brand off label parts.
Of course they're going to tell you otherwise...

Thanks for the input guys.
@e1_griego I was shopping on FRsport for one, they did not have the Tokico original CMC (bummer) luckily I found a guy that had the original Tokico/Nabco 3/4 Slave and CMC on eBay like you said. Quote:
The first time it happened, my transmission went out, and the gears was sheared (wasn't my fault previous owner jammed driveshaft into tranny by force and numerous of other problems with the drivetrain), so I replaced the Slave/CMC, brand new trans from Nissan/West Covina and installed Competition Clutch White Bunny 6 Puck kit. The first slave lasted for lasted for about a month when I got it running. I thought it was my fault, getting used to a new clutch, riding it quite a bit, re learning how to drive the car again. So I would blame this on my self. But... Bought the 2nd one, the seals literally went bad after 1hr of driving (wasn't my fault, O'Reillys confirmed it was a faulty RE-MANUFACTURED part) and on the CMC rod, the 2 little holes that you slide the holder for the cotter pin through, one of the "hooks" snapped off in half ![]() Got a refund, went to Autozone, got me one from there (which is my current and 3rd slave) Both actually have lasted for 2 months. But this time I know for fact it's the slave, just like the last 2, its leaking in the same exact place as before, which is right under the rubber boot where the seal is located. This time I know for sure it's not my driving or installation. I had it installed by a transmission shop because I was gone off to college. My clutch fluid is pitch black, it even has like a film like look and feel. I'm not exactly sure if the CMC is going bad, there is no visible leaks, but neverless...I'm replacing it with the original Nabco/Tokico unit to save me the troubles and fear of it going out man. I'm not even pushing no power either, it's a stock KA. the Competiton Clutch White Bunny 6 puck setup is a "heavy duty" setup, but it's OE styled. I would think the Autozone/O'Reilly/Advanced Auto CMC/Slave would handle it, but I simply don't trust them any more. |
