Funny story about the backseat of a 240 - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

Last year some friends and I were gonna go on a  roadtrip to NYC from Savannah, GA... We were gonna get a nice big rental car, something like a crown vic or whatever... BUT The only person who was over 21 did NOT have a credit card, and if you are not 21, you can't sign for a rental car.. So we were STUCK.. Until I decided to offer the services of my car...

Ok to make a long story short, imagine this....

1 driver
1 passenger
3 passengers,  1 medium sized dog in backseat

Sounds pretty tight right??

WELL add to this that we had baggage for a 2 week long stay in NYC...

Even worse right?

WELL add to that the fact that I have a 15" sub in the back of my car that NEGATES all cargo space in the rear of the car except for enough room for a pair of shoes on top of my amp.. =P

Needless to say that it was the trip from ####, the front passenger had to sit indian style because the footwell was filled with baggages and so was the entire backseat, wherever it would fit...

You won't see many people crankier than those that have been in that situation for 20+ hours...

At least we can look back on it now and laugh!

Not close to as bad, but I once drove to Montreal (six hours) with one front passenger and one rear passenger.  By the time we got there, the rear passenger had gone slightly insane.  He was completely unresponsive to anything said except to hum a tune vaguely resembling a Phil Collins song.  We got him to a bar and gave him beer.  He was fine.

Anyway, it was a good time.  =)

before my 240 i had a crx, i had my best friend shot gun, he had a cutie on his lap, i had a real cutie with nice legs and a tight little bum on my lap... while i was driving stick!!!!!!!!!...  and we stuck the ugly girl in the hatch, 5 people, 2 seater, to make things worse it was an 86' so it was not even a cool crx, like any of them are all that cool anyways, oh yeah... we werent even going anywhere in particular, i just wanted to see if we could do it. i drove for about 5-10 minutes like that and wasnt complainin....

yeah mine was in the front too, in a field,

we had the seats folded back, and the sunroof back too, we were half in the front and the back and it was not easy!!!

id definately do it again though

I owned a 1980 Monte Carlo for a bit (while I was struggling to get out of debt) and let me tell you, there's a lot to be said for a front seat that could just as easily be a back seat too.  That made getting used to the 'recline the shotgun seat all the way' method seem extra special tight.

Oh, and by the way, auto manufacturers everywhere: If we've turned our car off, we aren't driving it anymore.  The horn doesn't need to still be functional.  Thanks.

Actually, i find the back seat of a 240 to be fairly comfortable. Sit on one side, put your legs on the other and you're all set.

The back seats of a 240sx are quite comfy, it's the utter lack of legroom that makes them useless. As for karma, how do you think yer car feels not getting in on the action? The easiest way to make your backseats WAY more comfy is to take out the passenger seat... I had mine out when I was doing the interior, and the backseat was never better!
