i have an s14, and there are a lotta parts that require some serious disassembly to take out. For example, the door panels have to be removed just to remove the piece of plastic around the door handle.

If you're unsure, just call up the service dept at a nissan dealership. They've always been really helpful with me.

My experience with s13's is that they seem to be made to take apart. Of course... my last vehicle was a dodge... so that's probably why

Now that you have it out can you see how it should come out without breaking? I'd like to take mine out too, but I've got carbon fiber on it and can't afford to just break it out. Any information you can pass on from your experience could really help the rest of us.

Thanks,

lol... I would help you buy, 1) I have an S14, and 2) someone removed mine for me and I didn't see how they did it... and since they took it with them (along with the defroster, alarm indicator, hazard light switch, cigarette lighter, ashtray... oh yeah, and my stereo) I am not sure if they broke it or not!

Hey, that's a nice way of putting it. I also assume they accidentally broke your window in the process too. It happened to me. But they managed to leave my vents there.

oh yeah, that's right... apparently proper removal also involves breaking that ridiculously expensive window!

If you are in good with a stereo shop you can get them to do it for you. After all not many places know more about taking cars apart than they do.

Nah, we didn't break it.

Just playing.
Actually, the S14 center piece is pretty easy to take out. Pop up the shifter plate, two screws exposed in the bottom, one where the ashtray is, pop off the top piece with the vents, disconnect switches, two screws up top, remove rest of panel. I am pretty sure that's how I got mine out.
