somebody help me on value

New to 240's and looking at possibly getting a 1991 with a 2jzge. I know my trade is definately worth a solid 5000. I wanna make sure this is a fair trade, here it is....http://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/4959774064.html.

Also im assuming the hood is spaced like that for air flow and can be put back ??

Depends on what the average cost of 240s are in NC. What I notice is there's no note of how many miles are on the engine. Also most 240 owners replace parts after it is broken. Can't tell what hasn't broken yet.

A swapped non turbo 2JZ?!?! What's the point??

Horriblly small and non-detailed pictures, no receipts for work done, no mention of wiring, no mention of clean title/previous wrecks, no mention of problems, the front bumper looks to have been previously modified (no doubt for a front mount of whatever sorts, so who knows if this engine was previously turboed and is on it's last legs), the list is endless

However, this is what a typical 240 Ad nowadays looks like...........And this is to be expected of 90% of the 240s.

This would not be in my top 100 list of vehicles to even consider much less to even entertain the idea of sacrificing my time and vehicle to trade for. I vote NO!!!

I would keep whatever vehicle you have. atleast you won't be inheriting another individuals problems.

Speaking of which, information on your vehicle that you are offering up to trade??

^I'd take any of those S-Chassis for 5k more which will have less miles and less engine swaps than the car you are looking at. Just because it has an engine swap does not make it less of a shitty 240SX.

If your shit has an M&M in it, does not make the whole object a bag of M&Ms; its still shit.

Imported Nissans are going to wreak havoc on 240SX prices especially if the buyer has money. 6K for a 240SX with unknown miles with an engine swap with unknown miles or 9K for a silvia/180SX with low KMs and factory engine? Hmmm

Give him a call and have some questions ready. I think he's hoping his long list of stuff overshadows the negatives he's not mentioning. Not once in his ad does he say it even runs. Or, he's just a terrible salesman.

Good lord... I am soooo down for a sub 70k mile Z32TT for under $10k. I'd wait another year or so on the S-Chassis. Not really interested in importing an CA18. Thanks for the link.

^sarcasm? Because at this point waiting a couple years and saving up is a better thing to do than jumping on the first available "twofordy with an SR Tweny swap"

What car do u have that u want to trade?.. I personally think that is a fairly clean 240 (considering the countless ragged out ones I see everywhere.) and even though that is a non-turbo 2jz.. It is still a strong motor. I've read that people run a 120 shot of nitrous with no problems. that would net you around 300whp for cheap.

thanks for the replies guys. my trade is a lifted 94 chevy truck which i value at 5-6k (its similar to 240's where people pay way more than they are worth). he's dropped his to 4500. no turbo but 2jzge is still much better than a ka24de right?

apparently the guy who built it works for hendrick motorsports and has built drift cars for drifter tyler wilson. back is gutted.

A few things to look at/for: Title, receipts, frame rail damage, and any other paint under that red.
Did he say why he wanted to get rid of it?
