Sr20det gt2871r
Hey guys,
I'm almost ready to begin with a new build, this will be an SR20DET with stage 2 cams, upgraded springs, retainers and supporting mods. Head and block machines, forged pistons etc. I'm hoping for some opinions from people running the GT2871R on their SR20, I'm not totally convinced this is the right turbo for my application (drift) however I can get it very cheap ($800 new). Also - if I were to go stage 3 race 280 cams, how much do you think that would impact low end for drifting? I've come from a track background and I'm new to drift. Hopefully not ![]() Thanks |

there a Power Enterprise 1420 for sale for cheap... as far as sizing with cams why would you think the 2871r wouldnt be a prime candidate for your drift car fast spool and atleast 400hp depending on you application minimal to no lag.. i think even the 3071r would be good for your setup. |

Depends on the tracks you drive. I had a 2871R for a long time, making about 350. I ran 264 cams. I loved it. On smaller tracks it would take a clutch kick here or there to get it spooled back up, but nothing terrible at all. Big tracks it was fantastic, power everywhere.
I've never driven on a 3071, but that would be good for really large tracks, but 2871 should suffice on most. I am on a GTX2863 right now, its got power EVERYWHERE, also makes 350.
