ID this s13 climate control unit

so i came across one of these advertised as coming from an s13. never in my life have i seen one of these before on an s13, neither jdm or us/canada. can anyone help in identifying this climate control unit?

notable differences from the "normal" ones:
- diagonally slotted blank on left where it would say nissan
- lights on buttons separated from button picture
- auto fan function
- temperature in F above temp slider
- the small plug on rear has 3 wires instead of 2, the other two plugs are the same

all the dimensions are the same between the two- bolt hole spacing, width, height. definitely for a lhd car.

reference pic of normal s13 unit (not my pic):

You didn't think to maybe search for other Nissan cars around that era?

You know manufacturers use similar designs across models to save money?

Not for s13.

you didn't think i'd do that before posting? not nx, not sentra or stanza, not axxess, not hardbody or pathfinder, not altima... only thing that comes close from that era is the j30 maxima (89-94) but still not the same. none of the infiniti models either. i already tried to look.

it is for an S13, it is the same as the DDC variant as in it has the "Auto Function" there are writeups on http://nissansilvia.com/ to convert this analog unit to the DCC.

Im curious about this as well. S13 climate controls that arent all fucked up are getting hard to come by and the temperature slider tends to break. If the back connectors are the same then this should fit.

i think you may be on to something. there aren't any places for the heater box cables to attach to the unit for temp control, meaning it would be electronically controlled.

any more ideas floating around? if it is from an s13, what the hell kind did it come from?? it's for a LHD car, from a country that uses fahrenheit instead of celsius.

here are some more pics, alongside my regular s13 unit.

Its more than likely from the Nissan Laurel Altima that was sold in parts of the Caribbean, Turkey, and other Eurasian countries. The Nissan Laurel Altima was the LHD version of the A31 Cefiro and C33 Laurel that had this same control unit.(albeit reversed for RHD)

edit:
very close for the laurel altima. googling the c33 and a31 looks very similar. the slotted blank is horizontal instead of diagonal, temp colors above slider looks solid and not slashed, and layout reversed obviously for RHD.
still can't find this exact one anywhere. looking...
