car starting trouble

ok, i have a 91 hatch. when i start the car in the morning, it starts just fine. then after a few starts, it becomes much harder to get it going. it will turn over, just not start, then after a 20 seconds or so, it starts. any idea what could be causing this?

This might sound REALLY stupid...but in my 83 Ford, I had the same problem, and I looked it up in the troubleshooting guide in my chilton. It said a couple things, one of which was the air filter was dirty. So I looked, and it was massive dirty, replaced it and it started up time after time like a champ. I cant say it will work for you, but thats just what happen to my truck. Might want to check it out.

Good luck!

might be the fuel pump...or it failing... maybe related eletrical wiring?

Does the starter sound strong, battery sound strong?

Otherthing, does it start to turn over, or it just cranks forever?
cuz if it starts to turn over but doesn't go all the way over, could be ur maf.

Check all your fuses just to be sure.

its not the battery or air filter as those are both new. it tries to startbut just takes a while usually, it sounds like a fuel issue rather than an electrical one. but im going to have a friend hook it up to the computer at his shop.
