S14 fuel sending unit: change 4pin(96+) into 3pin
Can a 4 wire 96+ fuel sending unit be re-pinned for 3 wire and still function?? Leaving out the temp sensor wire not found in earlier tanks?

Its just 3 wires you need on one side that go through to the other side. Look at one side and decide which wires go where, then wire it up. I don't really understand the question. You can for example use the 3 wires for something else entirely just by looking at it and wiring it however you want.
I wouldn't bother repinning though, just cut them and solder then with fuel approved heat shrink if needed. Make sure to use an open flame near the mouth of the fuel tank ofc or it won't be very exciting. |

I?d look at both wiring diagrams and rule out what the differences are between the 3 and 4 wire. King is correct in that if it?s just and additional wiring circuit not used on a 95, which it most likely is, it should work if wired correctly.
