SR simple starter question

On the starter of my red top there are two lrge posts and a small plug.

-One of the the posts should always have power going to it right?

-The other post should only have power when i turn the key to start it right?or is it a ground or something

-and the smaller plug should also have power when i turn the key to start it too?

I relocated my battery a while back and everything was cool until i sent it to the shop to get my new harness installed, and now that my friends and i rewired it im just curious if we did everything the right way.

You get your ground wire from the two bolts that hold the starter to the tranny. The other two are both positive wires. That's all I know.

SR

Thanks now when i go to start the car all it does is click rapidly then it gets slower until it stops, so i hooked up a battery charger.Even when its fully charged i just get faster clicks. I started trouble shooting and found out my battery had a bad ground to the frame. so i ground it down and put the bolt back in.

I took my starter off then brought it to advanced auto parts and they said it was good so i know my starter isnt bad.

BTW my battery is in the trunk
