I just finished swapping in an S13 SR redtop into my 93'. I didn't notice it at first but my fuel light and check engine light are not working. When I turn the key they should turn on but aren't. The rest of the cluster seems to be working fine but I can't be sure since I haven't taken the car out of the driveway just yet. I just pulled the cluster out to make sure the connections back there were secure. Everything was fine.

Also, I know that seeing smoke come out of an engine that has been sitting is common but my idle is stumbing bad and I smell loads of fuel coming out the exhaust. I set the timing with the valve cover off but it's not in the middle of it's adjustment range. It seems to run better if I advance the timing some. Maybe the timing is off.

Any help dealing with the check engine light will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yo mofo

Double check the connector wiring under the dash.

Check ecu for which codes its throwing, if any.

I can come check it out, if you want and help with the idle. have a timing gun ?

BTW, I got my cluster working

, I still have the JDM one, if you want to test it

Yeah, I keep wiggling the dash connectors to no avail. I don't have a timing gun but I can probably get one from my grandpa. Dude, are you free right now by any chance? FREE DINNER!!!

hey i have the same problem with lights, but i have a 90 so the under the dash wires are a little different than the 93 (i believe the older model has more wires due to the eccs). if someone could explain how to make them work it would greatly be apreciated.
