HVAC lighting?

My heating/air control lights all work, except the direction buttons/defogger indicator, etc... Though when the car warms up it seems fine, it still comes to be very ficke though, I pulled the unit today and all connections seems good, no loose wires, nothing inherently wrong with the unit itself, any ideas?

Haha same with my car, you just have to memorize the sequence. I think it goes from right to left. Top air, top air and feet, feet only, something I don't use, then the extreme left is the window defroster. Or just turn on your little light. But as for your problem, sorry I dont have any recommendations to fix it.

pull out the HVAC controls and unscrew the bulbs. it's not rocket science - it takes 20 minutes. or less.

I just did a quick search and found a lot of good info but the one thing that I didn't find was where to find the bulbs. People did it with ones from radio shack but said they didn't fit right but made it work. So I was wondering if Nissan sells the bulbs or not? If not I’ll just buy a new unit all together one of these days.

Bulbs are replaceable...you can get them from Nissan
Part #'s
27545-50J00....short bulb...you'll need 3
27545-50J05...long bulb...you'll need 1

Taking apart the Heater / AC Control Panel only requires three small jewelry type screwdrivers and a pair of needle nose pliers....Easy to do...You'll have to pop the Dial button off along with the Push buttons from the front of the unit. Then you'll have to gently pry the retaining tabs away from the case as you remove the back faceplate. Then loosen a wiring harness, pinch 3 plastic tabs then gently remove the electronic circuit board to get to the bulbs. I've done it so many times it's second nature now. If I ever figure out how to create a webpage & link the photos to it, I'll post a DIY page on swapping out those bulbs...

On a S13, piece of cake...S14...pain in the ass!!.. You gotta take apart the Heater/AC unit on the S14. On a S13 the bulbs are easily accessible. Sometimes I wonder what the hell those friggin IDIOT Nissan engineers were thinking when they designed some of that sheyat!!...

Easy to replace, hard to get ahold of the bulbs, unfortunately.

It took my local Nissan dealer 2 weeks to get all 4 bulbs for me.
