When I cooked my clutch I cooked it BAD. I went from having a O.K. stock clutch to a smoking pile of junk. I killed it doing burnouts and it went up in smoke quick. I have NO pedal pressure at all. When I realized what happend it was over. It didn't stop smoking for a good 5 minutes or so. SO I went ahead and ordered a CenterForce 2 clutch kit. Do I have to resurface the flywheel. Is it gonna be heatdamaged that bad? I can only get it done this weekend for free or I have to pay $350 for labor and I spent all of my cash on the clutch. So whta happens if I don't resurface it? Whats the proper way to break in a clutch?

yes i would recopmend resurfacing your clutch if your putting a aftermarket clutch in like a centerforce
when i did my clutch i used an oem so im not to cnoncerned i just lightly sanded down the flywheel to remove surface dirt and glaze. if you can get it done for free why not?! breaking in a clutch i would recomend no more unessacary burnouts and clutch drops like the way you described your abuse of the clutch for at least 500 miles. after that if you think gettng a new clutch putting your tires and drive train thru that much stress of a burn out while burning your wallet. then go ahead i dont see no point in a burn out

Btw, remember... that's 500 miles of stop and go driving, not highway.

always resurface a flywheel when putting in a new clutch! especially after abusing it by doing lots of burnouts!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='
