at what psi do i HAVE to upgrade the head gasket? ..... 9 ? ..... 14 ?

Change it when it blows. You should be fine for awhile on 14psi with the stock turbo as long as you are not overheating or detonating.

What turbo?

My 1967 AMC can only handle a couple pounds before the HG blows...but my KA-T does 12psi from a T3/T4 all day long, stock block. And the pistons will typically crack before the HG blows from detonation...

A typical SR can easily 14psi, which is about the limit of the stock T25...as ^^^ said.

You will be fine. I'm running a GTiR t28 at 18psi w/o any problems. stock HG is a good fuse incase you have a detonation experience.
