problem with front camber at alignment shop

hey guys
i went to the alignment shop today to change my camber in the front and they said the passgenger side maxed out at -.97 degrees and the drivers side was -2.28. i see the camberplates maxed out all the way and theyre different from one another. could i have switched the coilovers around? would it matter which ones left or right?

usually that would indicate a bent arm or frame rail.

btw, which arm would probably be bent if this happens? is the frame rail on the side of the car?

I would bet the spindle bolt will allow some movement...when you put the coilovers on, I bet one loaded up negative, the other positive.

Loosen both spindle bolts, push IN on the coilover, and I'll bet the spindle/hub will tilt toward the negative.

Or you have a bent LCA...?

as for the frame rail, is it fixable? how much would it cost to fix that?

I agree. I also think the problem is with the spindle that bolts up to the shocks.

your shocks are bolted to the hub spindles. Your shocks are most probably slotted. loosen them up, push the shocks, and look at the negative camber grow!

Find a new alignment shop, that one's obviously over its head.

Indeed. I can't believe your alignment shop could not see that.

it was firestone. they usually dont let people change the specs on the camber since their company policy is to only set it to factory specs.

I goto Firestone all the time with my Lifetime alingment. I can have the guy put it to whatever I want. He put it to factory. Then I just go back everytime I want to change something. I may have to go back a couple of times cause they are only bugeted like 30mins for the alignment and ajusting mutiple arms can take some time.

yeah the guy said it took him an hour to do juss the back. 100 bucks for lifetime is pretty cheap.
