Hey, i might be getting a s15 lsd but it seem a little too low of a price for it, im going to go look at it, does any one have any pics of what it should look like? i know the out put shaft look like but thats it........ also any way to tell how durable it is by looking at it?

i dont have any pics personally, just google for Helical LSD and they should look pretty close to that. i think JSpec has one on their site if you wanna check them out. just make sure you get the output shafts or you'll end up waiting 6 months on them (bough a diff in january, got shafts in july, haha!).

a pic of an HLSD from a Silvia Spec-R, 6 bolt, 2 x 3...my friend who bought is is pretty lucky!1

the helical gears inside are visible through the body of the LSD. If you can't see the gears, it isn't the right diff.

Are you sure the stock output shafts don't work? My stock output shafts are 3x2, just like those!

Is it the thread pitch or the lenght of the output shafts then?

^^yea, im pretty sure hte s15 has a higher spline count than the s13. Unless you cuold 'respline' your output shafts?? Hmmm

So how are you guys able to tell if the diff in the pictures is a s15 lsd or not?

Sorry, I couldn't quite tell if that was part of the casing or if it was the gears. If only by looking, is this the only way to tell if it's a s15 lsd? Or are there other ways as well?
