I have a KBC TK-7 helmet. It has a Snell certified sticker but no rating. Does anyone know if it has a SA-95 rating?

Yez, it is SNELL 95 and DOT certified/approved. I'm guessing that you are using it for auto-x!

Hey thanks a lot! Yeah I used it last time for auto-x and they didn't have a problem with it. I'm asking because I want to use it at the track this summer at the 240SX convention.

Is there any paperwork or official site or whatever I can use to prove that it has an SA-95 rating?

DrD - how can you tell it is SA95 without seeing the sticker?

There should be a sticker on the inside near or slightly under the padding that will have Snell, blah blah blah SA and then either 2000 or 1995. On my SA 2000 it is almost like a hologram that covers the whole sticker.

This is the ONLY way you can prove to a tech inspector that the helmet is SA95 or 2000.

However, after doing a 10 second yahoo search (shame Danio, shame! ) I think that you better check with the sanctioning body to see if they will accept M rated helmets. Sorry man...

I am 100% positive

That the TK-7 is a

MA-95 rated helmet.

MA is rated for motorcycle use. For AutoX, I believe all it's required is a Snell 95 rated helmet, so, the TK-7 will be OK. For drag racing use and or more serious Auto X, a SA rated helmet is needed.

Ack..sorry about that if I got the facts wrong. The site that I went to just said that it was SNELL 95 (no letters or anything) approved, so I just assumed that it was SA95 approved. Bah, are you sure Danio that you absolutely need it to be SA95 approved?

FA thread

Alex says I can't use it. :\ I think I'll just skip the convention's track even then. Saves some money that way anyway.
