Tein front pillow ball mounts experience

Does anyone have these on their car? I have them on but i dont think i put them on right. They make a knocking noise when i hit a bump on the road. Is there something that is supposed to go in between the mounts and the shocks?

thanks,
john

i tigthened it down all the way but there is still a little gap in between them. i was wondering if i should put a spacer of some sort in between the mounts and the shocks.

I have that same problem, I have them with a agx/prokit setup on my s13. I dont think its the pillow ball mounts, my friend has the same setup without any noise. I think it is the fact that I put the bare spring on the shock with out any coil wrap, so when i hit a bump its the bare spring making contact with the strut.

I also have these mounts, mine came with a spacer for the top of the shock. Did you reuse the little jimmy jangel at the top. The peice that keeps your spring top mount from rotating? I had a similar that sound soming from my Altima, the spring would rotate 4 or 5mm in its housing causing much noise, mostly at low speeds and turning right. You should not have any play between the top mount and the shock(strut).

mine didnt come with a spacer and it doesnt tighten down all the way. i put a spacer on today but now the pillow ball mounts are so damn tight that it creaks when i turn the wheel. im gonna have to pull it apart again and prolly put some grease in between them. would this work?
