drunk asian girl + cell phone = help plz
so my friend was at a club and my female friend's friend wanted to check out his bling bling cell phone. he hands it over. she goes 'ooh ahh' over it a bit and hands it back. he extends his hand to take it and instead, for some bizarre reason she reaches over to his other hand and drops it in his drink! unfortuanetly we're too drunk to realize exactly wtf just happened and they get away before he can choke her drunk ass out.
so... now the cell phone is busted. he has a sprint plan, but he didn't get insurance with the plan which means if anything goes wrong they don't do jack. he can sign up for insurance at any time but they call ur phone to verify that nothing is wrong with it. i'm sure this has to have happened to someone on here before... anyway to fix the phone? since its fucked we were going to try opening it up to clean it out. is there a cleaner for electronic circuitry or something? i figure water is probably a bad idea. if we can just get it to work for a few minutes he can sign up for insurance and get a new phone. |

maybe it just needs to dry out. let it sit open for a few hours.
if that doesn't work, does it have a sim card? if you swap the sim card to a working phone, will sprint know it's not the same phone that they're calling even though he answers when they dial his number? better luck with that if you know someone else with the same phone |

No kidding. Find that dumb girl and lay the blame on her. Any clue why she'd do that in the first place? Maybe she flipped through your friend's numbers and saw 100 other girls hahaa.

Damn, I thought you were going to talk about a drunk asian girl that keeps calling your cell phone.
I set my phone in a cupholder full of soda. Yep sounds dumb but to the point, let it dry out as much as possible. Maybe even put a hair dryer to it but not too close. Also, it's possible the battery could have shorted out. My phone didn't work for a week until it completely dried out but the battery is screwed up. The battery indicator lies and says it will be close to full but the phone will keep restarting or just completely die. Tell your friend there's still hope for his fancy phone. I've heard of people running their phones through the wash and they still work.

well is your friend's contract about to expire or already expire ? because when i cancel my sprint service saying that my phone sux so bad... they offer me a new free phone to keep me as their customer. you might give that a try. or you can just make that girl to pay or find a cheap one off ebay or something... also if that drink was pure alcohol there is a chance that the phone will still be usable.

ok what you need to do is forward his calls to ur phone, i think its *82 or something like that, then call up and add the insurance to the phone, then wait like a couple days and claim that it was stolen.
If that doesn't work, there isn't much else you could do except to buy a cheap phone off of ebay or something. |

Isnt the only way to forward calls is by doing it on the phone being forwarded. Maybe there is another way but to forward my phone I have to actually do it on my phone first.
An old pager of mine went through the wash and dryer and didnt work at first. A few days later it worked like a champ.

I like hurleyboi's idea. The customer is always right, you know. Just go to the store and raise some hell. They'll give you whatever you want just to get you to leave, trust me.

anyway we've been going thru the numbers trying one thing or another. so far no luck. i think its really messed up. the battery holds charge, the LCD comes on but nothing happens on the phone. the circuitry inside must be fried. anyway thanks for all your suggestions. hmm that call fowarding idea has promise... |

i know that if you open it up right away and blow dry it itll work again but i think its a little late for that plus you guys were kinda in a club so that would have been pointless...looks like your ognna have to bite the dust and pay for a new phone or something...sorry to hear about that
