My timing chain was getting so loose I had already made enquiries to get the tensioner, ect, replaced. I was driving down the road very fast when I noticed a dip in the road. I slammed on the brakes and smashed the underside of my car. On closer inspection at home I realized I dinged the oil pan quite bad but it was not cracked. I also dented the chassis. To my amazement, there was no more rattle. (even when cold). The smash must have wacked the tensioner piston loose? Anyway I dont reccommend this method of service as you might not have much oil left in your car afterwards but I can say it worked...for now.

Regarding smashing my car on the underside... I think I may have dislodged (loosened up) the hydraulic piston in the tensioner (to an extent) I cant explain it any other way. There are no more rattles from the chain. Perhaps I busted a guide loose???

But unfortunetly today I noticed coolant slowley leaking from the outside of my water pump. (perhaps related??)

Can give me advice to whether this coolant is now in my oil pan??
