Engine vibrating the car.
My car was in an accident where most of the hit was recieved in the drivers side door area. Ever since then, the car is vibrated by the engine. The shifter also sits about a half inch to the left. At low rpms (800) the car shakes alot. At highway rpms its just enough to make the rear view mirror blurry from vibration. I first thought it was a motor mount or a transmition mount. When i took it to a shop they told me one of my cylinders was making 120 compression while the rest were at 150. They said the fact that one of the cylinders was making less power threw the balance of the engine off causing it to vibrate. Is this a feasible guess? Just want some opinions. I hope I gave enough info.

Doesn't sound right. Does it do it if you rev in neutral?

yah cuz it would make a difference if it was at a stop, otherwise it could be frame if it happens when ur moving only,

The origin of the vibration is the engine. The vibration will occur when the car is parked and in neutral or when the car is driving. Also the vibration happens all the time, not intermittantly, from when I turn the car on untill I turn it off. Thanks for the replies, keep it coming.

check motor mounts and tranny mount like u first intented. do it urself. stick a pry bar in it and see if u get movement(dont leverage off actual motor or tranny though). normal compression test is 15% within eachother, if cylinder isnt missing i dont think it would shake like that. if it is missing thats different though.

look at your trany mounts I think that might be the culprit my shit used to do the same, it wound up being the tranny mount was hanging by a 1/8" of rubber and they were seriously worn out, I think the accident you had screwed up your mount.... all the mechanics want is money. do the compression check yourself...
