gauge cluster wiring???
i am new to the site and just picked up a 1989 sil80. i will be doing the SR20DET swap in the near future. i have a question aobut the gauge cluster. i understand that the stock cluster in the 89 will not work with the swap. what is the differences in the 91-94 cluster as opposed to the one in my car now? and do i need the wiring for the new cluster or will it just pop into my dash, and hook up to the harness thats in the car now??? i tried a search and checked the faq's but did not find an answer. help is appreciated. thanks.............

jesus... since you have heard about this problem befor means it has been discussed before therefore you should search before talking.
since you obviously suck at the internet I will help ya out the difference is in the tach...the signal it reads is different if the cluster is the same (analog to analog or HUD to HUD) than it plugs right in but will read in KPH not MPH you can also swap the tach into your current housing that way you can keep a US speedo and use the proper tach lastly if the clusters dont match (going analog to HUD or vice versa) you need the subharness that hooks the dash to the main harness this connects with two white plugs under the vent area in the center of the dash
