Hey guys, I'm new here
I just got my 240 a couple months ago and I love it, and I'm considering doing a sr20det swap. I found some front clips online that seem ok, and I was just wondering if there is anything I should need to know, or to look for to make sure everything is good with it. I have set off about $5000 for the whole install and I am thinking this should be enough. If anyone who has done the sr swap before could offer me some advice to any problems they have run into or anything like that, I would appreciate it. Also, forgot to mention I have a 93 se automatic, are there any problems that I would run into when putting in the sr20det with the manual trans?
See you at the track!
Daniel

well, i'm not into this whole swap thing, nor do i follow it too often, but since you don't seem to be an idiot, i would make sure to get a wiring harness and new ECU if necessary

All that should come with the complete front clip.

LOL, I do my homework on the topic before I post. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Other then removing a heat shield from the turbo and possibly removing and welding shut a recirculation pipe from the exhaust manifold (not sure on this one, I know some of the older S13 engines had them) because they could hit the drive shaft on the US spec 240sx's. You will also have to lengthen a few of the SR20DET wires in the wiring harness to accomidate the different engine layout from the right hand drive to left hand drive conversion. Everything else I think sould be basicly unbolt/unplug from clip drop SR in and rebolt/replug.....etc. I have not done the swap but look to do it in the near future.
