Thoughts on S15 headlights.

Alright, with the ever growing popularity of our cars do to this huge media explosion Im forced to rethink the rebuild of my car. I've had my 92 hatch for 4 years now and each year it goes about some sort of face lift. Well, Im planning on getting a new front end for my car this summer once more. I was going to install S15 lights with an OEM S15 hood and a nice clean vertex front bumper. Well after stopping by the bookstore and reading through any "sport compact" magazine, Im finding page upon page about "drifting" and this whole 240SX explosion just has me so frustrated I almost want to just sell the car and buy a less popular car, like the 240SX was a few years ago. I personally am very fond of the look of the S15 lights on the S13 hatch body style but at the expense of looking like some sort of bandwagon ricer, Im hesitant. Im pretty much asking all of you what your opinion is about this, both the modification and the recent explosion of this media soaked "drift" craze. Someone send a box full of C4 to universal studios with a remote detonator for making the F&F.

Put on the conversion, and sell it to a wagonhopper. Best bang for your buck i'd say.

True, I've just kept this car so cleanly done these passed few years and its gettin hard to come up with stuff thats original but not ricey. It's gotten to the point now where a clean car is a rare sighting, every other "tuner" car or whatever are always plastered with stickers and overly flashy stuff. I hate to sound like some 40 year old guy, I mean Im only 21, but I just have a picky taste when it comes to modifying cars especially. The S15 end looks really clean and updates the looks of the car well. What are all of you guys doing to doing to stay away from the rice craze?

go for it. I personally love the look of the s15 front end. Just dont go and ruin the conversion by putting on a wack ass bumper.

Well I already have SSR GT1 wheels on the car with apexi N1 coil overs. I plan on a vertex bumper for the conversion. And selling the car really isnt a possibility, I have way too much invested into this. All in all, just trying to keep one step ahead of the rice crew and keeping one more clean car on the road. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Ok first off I dont have a 240sx, but i will have one next month. So about the whole bandwagoner thing. I see how its annoying, but I've been waiting 2 years to have the chance to buy an s13 and do a sr swap (im only 18 and I just couldnt afford it until now). Now do you call me a "bandwagoner" because I havent own my 240 for the past 3 years? Ive never had a ricey thought pass through my head lol! I just want a stock hatchback with a sr and some new paint. Ill be doing all my own work and taking care of the car myself. Im not really worried about what you guys think I just wanted to see if you guys connect bandwagoners to those who buy 240s and then rice them out, giving those who keep their cars clean a bad "name"?

thats exactly it. Any car, even if it's not a 240, if its riced out I just wanna beat the guy that owns it. Well, not civics cause you'll never win there. But when I see a 300ZX non turbo with this huge shogun body kit and shopping cart steel wing you just know that the owner is stuck in this APC wonderland like everyone else. Now even doing a headlight/tail light conversion is getting common place. I mean, I've been gathering parts for a full 180SX type X interior, glove box, door panels, mats, seats, and all just to keep my car clean and different from these assholes. Now if you keep your car nice and clean, lowered, nice tasteful bumper/side skirts, no un necessary stickers, neons, etc etc, then more power to you. I got my car when I was 18 before "the movie" had came out and it seems that after the movie came out, my car was noticed more and negatively at that. Im too stubborn to give up on it and it just drives me to keep my car clean and tasteful and when my SR is done being rebuilt and it's pushing around 500HP, then it doesnt matter if I throw minute rice out my windows when I drive, keep up.
