domestic (mustang) wheels on S14

i know some people have doen this and i am picking up a set for my S14 now.

what i am curious about is offset, or backspace as the domesticans call it.

15 x 8 in a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern with ??? backspace

what backspace should i specify?

they are made to order so anything is doable.

8", +25 is what you should shoot for IMO.

So what's +25 in backspacing?

8" wide wheel will probably measure close to 9" from lip to lip...

Backspacing measures from the VERY rear of the wheels lip to the mouting surface...so 4.5 is the centerline of a 8" wide wheel (9" total / 2 = 4.5)

A positive offset moves the mouting surface AWAY from the rear of the wheel...and you want 1" more.

So it's 5.5" backspacing...less will push the wheel out further.

Hope that helps - Brian

Ok I have a set of 2000 mustang gt wheels and they are 17x8+30 and I have a 10mm spacer on them making them +20 and they sit flush on the car. I posted earlier thinking that they were +35 but then I saw that they were +30.
