s13 Hybrid Style intercooler Hotpipe problem

so i think i got a little dillema,

i ordered myself the intercooler kit displayed below. it seems to be identical to the HYBRID one, except the core is bar and plate, other than that its a really beautiful set up though, and the fitment was perfect. but the problem is that the kit didn't come with a complete hotpipe. i think the pipe (top right in the pic) connects to a pipe that comes with a front clip (as in a complete stock intercooler system) and i only got the motorset. I have a HKS SSQV style BOV and i need a hot pipe to mount to. right now i have a HKS flanged hotpipe on order from CIP Motorsports (see it here: http://www.240sxmotoring.com/cipcuhofors1.html) . I believe those hotpipes are meant for the greddy intercooler kit, so i might have a fitment issue. What do u guys think?

I know there is a HYBRID hotpipe, but i would have no idea where to look for one.

Hybrid cores are bar and plate as well... As for the hotpipe, any hotpipe stock or aftermarket should bolt up to that hybrid pipe that connects to the intercooler. I have the same hybrid piping and my stock hotpipe fits just fine (I think I'm using an elbow-like coupler). Just find the right couplers...

hey man, thanks for the reply, it seems that we are two of the few people that actually went the Hybrid intercooler route. i think its an awesome kit, but the casting on the lower pipes is shit. unfortunately i don't have any stock intercooler piping because i didn't get the front clip, just the motor set. where would i find couplers? do you have a pic of your setup. it also bothers me that the hybrid kit tapers down from 3 inches to 2 inches on the pipe that connects the hot pipe to the intercooler. how would i go about connecting these two? i will need a reducer that is also an elbow???

99.9% of intercooler kits out there don't come with the hotpipe.

as for connecting the two different size pipes. just order a coupler that's 2in to 3in, or vise versa.

I got that same kit, $435 shipped, nice huh? As for the hotpipe, The one they provide I didnt use since my stock one fit onto their tapered pipe. And the connector I used my stock rubber pipe, you can get silicone couplers for around $5-10. Also, did they send you the T-bolt clamps and wastegate nipple they have pictured in the auction?

yeah, great kit for the money, you can't beat that!! i got a bunch of t-bolt clamps, but they are "almost" a little to small for the 3 inch pipes and couplers. i also got the wastegate nipple crap. i got 4 3 inch couplers, but no 2 inch couplers for the right (looking at the car from the front) portion of the intercooler kit. did u install yours and get it running? how is the lag before the pressure gets into the engine? i am thinking about using some truck radiator hose and cutting it up to get the bends that i need. maybe i can find a soft enough 2 inch piece of hose that will also fit over my 2 1/4 hot pipe. this would be a temporary fix. once the car is running i will bring it to CIP and have them weld me up a 3 inch to 2 1/4 inch piece of mandrel bent aluminum to go from intercooler to hot pipe. The casting isn't very good on the two lower pipes and they weigh a ton! so, one last time everyone...where do i get silicon reducers/couplers???
