well the only difference between the auto one and the manual one is the auto when put side by side with the manual looks like its facing the opposite direction. one has the mount holes facing forward the other has the mounting facing rearward, because the auto tranny is shorter than the manual. I hope this makes sense to you.
for easy verification if you have a auto tranny in your car just look under there and observe which direction your crossmember has the mount holes facing. you will know immediately if you picked up a manual trans one or a auto trans one.
and yes if you don't know the above info you can easily grab the wrong one.
good luck

I believe when I did my 5 speed swap.. I kept the auto crossmember because somehow it fit.. I've been driving my car for about 2 months already and there's no problem.. (it still has the auto crossmember.)

Nope.. the difference is that the cross member on the auto is somewhat bigger.. but it fit right in.. oh yeah.. it was for an S14 though.. I'm still sure they're the same.

Chris, they're basically the same thing, they bolt to the same holes. The structure of the metal itself is different, you can jam an auto crossmember to fit with the mount but it most likely will shorten the life of the rubber. Don't be a cheap shit just find a crossmember. It's not that hard.

And this is Dann, Joe's friend if you didn't remember.

Oh and it's good to see you just jumped on the bandwagon and got an SR20 and some FN01R-C's and then do some mad tyt3 dorifto omomgomg

hey man,

good to see u on this forum as well, it seems to be a little more informative than 240sxone. by the way, i haven't gotten the rims yet, because i am 5 grand deep into my sr project thats not even running yet!! i know u have a s14 and the crossmembers are slightly different, but do u think i could pull off drilling two extra holes to bolt it up? i might have to be a cheap shit, because i don't know where to find a manual crossmember. wanna find one for me?

Sure thing: Go to a Nissan Dealership, go to their parts department, request the part and order it. I would hope it's not too much. The entire clutch pedal assy. was only 40 bucks so a stamped piece of steel shouldn't be much. Or just find someone on ONE parting out their S13 and grab the crossmember.
