KA Good Street Clutch for a KA24DE

My stock clutch on my '98 KA is starting to go and I was wondering what's a good but not too expensive performance clutch to replace it with? Thanks in advance.

i bought that and recently installed it on my ka....but now my car is not running do to KNOCKING...
i had it on for about 2 weeks, broke it in and went 2 a drift event, didnt slipp at all and its well worth the $$....i probably put 700 miles on it before my motor gave out, i will be swapping in another lower mileage ka and i will reuse that clutch/pressure plate...

it was kool wen i recieved it cuz i took off the xtd stickers and i found this hard printed in the pressure plate "EXEDY"....

for 165+19s/h=184.00.... not bad,

also, i researched before i bought it too, i found 2 guys on 240sxforums.com that have it....one guy has a rb20 pushing 250whp and the other has an rb20 pushing 200whp.....the guy pushing 250whp had this clutch in his car for 10k until he wrecked it, and the other guy has it for 9k and still going....

they love the clutch and would get another....although they bought it for 250-300 when it 1st came out...they were mad when i should them the one i bought and it was only 184.00 shiipped...

hope that helped...

stock clutch replacement. www.nopi.com

exedy/dakin oem: $100 bucks for plate, clutch, pilot and throw out bearing.

if i was going aftermarket i'd get a spec clutch. 250 for stage 1 iirc.

oh yea, i forgot that i have pics....here u go

the clutch bites good, and its not too harsh, its sprung so it is not on/off, although it did make my clutch pedal softer, after the install, it felt like my bro's s13 clutch pedal....he never changed the clutch ever since he bought the car 2 years ago, so no telling if he still has the oem clutch or not.....maybe oem cuz i have 180k on my car and my clutch that was removed was an oem nissan clutch/pressure plate...hope that info helps...

Now what's the difference in feel of the Centerforce dual friction Compared to that Exedy/XTM 6 puck. Is there a vast differenace to the 2? I don't want something that's going to be too harsh in a little stop and go traffic that I encounter. Right now the stock clutch doesn't even hold enough to let the tires break loose from a stand still. Thanks Again.

CFDF has a weighted cover with a light spring. So, the pedal feel is light but the weights add force at high RPM.

The pressure plate side has Copper impregnated organic for stock like engagement.

The flywheel side has a diff material that holds under high loads but doesn't engage as well.

The CFDF has a hold force of 90% over stock. With the weights and organic side engaging first it's almost stock like. Sort of getting the best of both worlds.

You shouldn't get such a "crazy" clutch if you don't have many modifications, I believe you'll slip? I havn't tested out those clutches that people have mentioned above, but I have one of those $100 Exedy clutches for light modifications. I like it.

I heard ACT clutch disks are all unsprung, so that's why pedal feeling is probably probably the stiffiest among street clutches. Exedy/Daikin is just release their performance clutch kit for KA24DE this month. I can't wait to get that clutch since i heard it's spring disk and has great reputation for making clutches.

I have the ACT stage 2. It's very good and not harsh at all. Pedal is firm. Hey Max, you sell the dual diaphragm clutches right?
My next clutch will be that exedy..glad it's out now

check out Spec. We have had tremendous success with with them and even use them in both of our Drift Cars and our Drag Racing Car. Both Stage 2 and Stage 3. when you are looking for a clutch don't go cheap. It is something that can make or break your setup. Get something good the first time and save yourself a head ache.
