Well as some of you know, i had title problems with my 240, so it was chilling in my garade for 2 months, it was awful. But on friday, it was all fixed, so i started driving it, its so nice.
I got shifting down pat, and i atteped to drift, i dented my hub cap. It was all in fun, just a curb, hah. But i have become one with my car aleady, and this car is great. If you dont already know I have a 90' but it seems fast to me. When i go on brakes at work, i and drive it around for an hour, i just love driving it, manuals and 240s are so fun. Hopfully ill sell my other car soon, i can get like 2k for it, so then i can get a CA front clip, and bust out the power of the CA, YAY, well how was your guy's first few weeks with your 240s |

Just becarefull with all that curbing. Back in the day when I started drifting I had to replace enough controll arms and other little pieces to keep a small junkyard in business. Plus it can destroy your alignment and other things.
Start of in a deserted parking lot or a road with slanted/rouned curbs.

The first week or two was great. I did a couple of minor repairs and some matience. I learned stick too, and I love it! I am around my 7th week with it, well, not with it an the moment. I have been in a hell hole trying to get a simple clutch adjustment done for over a month. Every mechanic here has screwed up. I am learning how to do this crap myself soon. Anyways, best of luck <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> Jeff

my first few weeks? well, 5 days after i bought it, i got my window smashed, the police assumed it was a attempted theft (look on the brighter side, alarm went off, guy scared away). That was my first week w/ that car... other than that it was beautiful, than comes the BANG! i didn't exactly drift, more like oversteered and over corrected myself (which is somewhat drifiting...) and i ended up w/o my car for 2 days, had to go to junk yard and buy a tension rod and control arm. and i had to go on 1 bolt on the tension rod for quite some time, 'caue the junk yard didn't give me bolts, and one of my bolts on the original tension rod was broken. I tried looking around @ home deopot, they don't got it, and nissan dealership says it's a special order item for 8 bucks... now? i'm happy w/ my eastbear tension rod =)

you "drifters" are hilarious
as for me, i just lace up the piloti's, put on the driving gloves, take a big whiff of the sweet smell of nomex, and head out highway 40. broke 110 2x, and long sweepers at 85 in 4th and pullin hard is lots of fun sun afternoon. well, now that i'm all revved up i think i'll go for a more subtle drive tonight. |

if you value your car and yourself so much... don't drift untill you learn how to drive extremely well. just stick to pushing the car naturally.... people try to force things, and that's when they get in trouble.

Deserted Parking lots ar ethe best for drifting...
Just warm up there, and you can pull off some killer drifts in there without bashing into anything...And if u do hit somerthing, yeah, it can fock up a lotta stuff. If ur gonna go drifting...a lotta them hardcore japanese drifters warm up in parking lots...and then head out to the Mountains / Drift Area's.

![]() I must be a real bad driver because I've been driving stick for 10 years and still cannot properly drift on dry roads. Powerslide yes, spin out yes, drift no. Its a whole different ball of wax when theres rain or snow but its just not the same. I'm glad you enjoy your 240. Just be careful, it can be very easy for a newbie to break the rear loose and not recover or overcorrect putting you in an uncontrollable spin. Learn how to tranfer the weight in your car and steady pedal input. Puck

Once upon a time...
Well, first few weeks... well, it's kind of funny for me. I'll be honest, when I got my 240sx, I was barely learning to drive a manual transmission!! I spent a few weeks just going around the neighborhood "practicing." This was during the summer though, so I was doing it every day. (no school) Come the new school year, I started driving a carpool to school. Me and 2 of my friends... 30 mins to get to school from the 10 fwy. Sometime after, I learned how to heel-toe downshift. About a month or two after learning it, I pretty much had it down like clockwork. A few months later, I experimented with turning quickly, drifting (not really), and all that junk related to it... etc.. i guess. A month later, I figured out how to slide with the handbrake method. I did all this at the "backlot." Try #1, I barely was able to break traction. Try #2, it worked, and I almost hit a telephone pole. Try #3, I did it right and amazed some of my friends. Try #4 was just for self kudos <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() Now, I'm working on the braking method. I dont have it down quite yet -- hopefully soon. I practice about once a week at the "backlot" (empty back parking lot where I live. ) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() ...To be continued. LoL. I like ending posts like that <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/satisfied.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':satisfied:'>

yea i dont really want to start drifting, unless i have a death wish. But i want to do some body work ad engine work, and i dont want to work on a totaled car, becuase i cant drift. Also im cant wait cuz i found a place that sells front clips near me, a SR clip for 1300, and a CA for around 900, so YAY.

I'll give you the first week after I got my SR swap done because it is a totally different car. I was driving back from the place where I had it done and decided, against all common sense, to push an engine that just got put in but what the hell. At 3500 the turbo kicked in and my knees started to tremble and my breaths got short it was one of the greatest feelings that I haven't had since I sold my GSX-R 600 Chirping the rear in second and third with the racing clutch that was droped in.

I said the wrong thing. Yes, grant is right... breaking traction isnt really drifting, but I'll just take a guess that to eventually drift right, you have to know how to control traction loss.
But yea, like he says, grip then drift. PS. Im not trying to say that I'm an expert or anything! -=^_^=-

i'm going to buy a fast dirtbike and start jumping big ass dirt jumps like jeremy mcgrath. i just want to be cool and it looks fun! who needs practice. i don't need to get to know the bike first! looks simple enough!
sorry, but that just how i feel when i hear about people messing up their cars while attempting drifting. (in your case, only a hubcap, whew).

The first week I got my car I had my first experiance with an aftermarket LSD. Took it out to the local "dori" spot to try it out with the stock suspension. It was love at first site, 91' PS13 with only one owner and the owner had every maintenance paper work since he bought it and he kept every gas reciept and only used high octane gas.
