No. Its about right for any VSLD. But, this is why most people get a 240sx or J30(?) LSD. They will bolt in without the need for output shafts. The 300zx will need another $250 to $350 in output shafts. Also... if you are still goin 300zx (which I dont recommend) make sure its NA version. The twin turbo has a much lower final drive ratio. Slower acceleration.

all i know is i've seen them for a lot cheaper.... generally around $200. anyways, you'll still need the output flanges from a 240sx VLSD.
