im trying to reinstall my powersteering and realized that i no longer have the washers for what the FSM calls the 'eye bolt'. its basically a big fat bolt with a hole in the middle that lets atf fluid flow through it. it bolts right into one of the two openings in the power steering pump.

can i get away without these washers for a little while, or is it gonna leak ATF fluid all over the place?

Not only will it cause the ATF to leak, it will cause NO or very little fluid to run through the system. Than washers cause the banjo bolt to align with the hole in the pump. YOU NEED THESE WASHERS.

well holy crap. i'm sure glad i asked... lol. thanks for the info man.

does anyone know what size these washers are? is it possible to pick up a set from home depot, or are they so specific i have to go to the dealer or the junkyard?

Any auto parts store will have a selection of copper crush washers.

Go to an auto parts store and take the bolt with you. Tell them whats it for and they should be able to get you the right part.
