Thanks for the recap of shit we knew 14 years ago. Nothing like taking a nice car and making it hot, noisy, uncomfortable, and completely unsafe for the occupants.

And why the fuck are typing in all caps?

ya thanks for the effort true

also, did you gut your intereior? it adds up pretty fast, the heater core, if its a full race car, can save some weight by being removed, also all the sound deadaing, and people have removed some good weight from taking out useless wiring and relaz boxes and adding a switch panel.

that water pump mod you've got planned is quite interesting...wondering what the side effects would be.

Also, the comment on exhaust sizing is not accurate. It's been argued a lot in the past here.

BTW, where in TN are you?

Because the fact of the matter is that he DID this shit... All of it and more, earned himself the nickname "the hardcore lightweight" in the process, daily drove the car for a LONG time, then eventually tired of it and turned himself back to a human being... The fact that he brings to the forefront here is that you've revealed nothing new.

i dont think the exhaust weight is correct. i just pulled mine off yesterday, and it didnt feel like 77 pounds, more like 40. GP-Sports on the other hand was a whole lot lighter, and louder.

The aluminum calipers are lighter than stock 240sx. However, the rotor weigh more.

...and rotational weight has a greater effect on performance than unsprung weight. Especially with the fact that it's a larger rotor to so you are effectively moving the weight out farther increasing the load.

Sure that is true, but very few people run 14" rims on a 240sx without getting laughed at. In anycase documenting things is nice, but it would still have to be done carefully and not by estimation or with a bathroom scale.

I would also take it to the drag strip or the track to document some real effects. Weigh the entire car at the track. Also document things such as before and after times, handling Gs, braking distances as weight is reduced. Realistically most of us don't have the time or money to get into all that.

Props for effort though.
