Winshield window replacement

My windshield window has a crack..so I'm going to change it soon. But I heard of a material window that's lighter than the stock one. I'm just wondering how much it would cost for me to change to that one and where I can custom it for my car? Any help and tip would be awesome.

Thanks

i got mine from a place called All Glass Windshields or something... they were in the Bay Area. Anyway, removal of the old windshield + new windshield + new trim was about $150... and you dont have to get off your ass....

good deal in my book.

stick with stock glass... if u want weight reductions... there are far more methods of doing so without sacrificing safety.... like the Slim Fast Diet....

Just call around, I got someone to go to the house and install for 150. There was one next to pick and pull and they wanted 140. Maybe if you're close to one they might have one next to it also.

yeah there are a lot of junk yards near my area. I was just wondering if I should go for the lighter one. But after all I guess I don't want a bird to hit the windshield and kill me.

is your car full stripped w/ a chromoly cage and 2 bucket seats?

if not then get a regular windsheild.

lexan is illegal in a street car. I wouldn't recomend it in anything than a track only car.

I hope you realize that front windshields are thicker for a reason. it's call frontal protection. you don't want a thin front windshield to crack from small rocks, when had you manned up and got a OEM thickness front windshield. seriously $150 is decent, I have been quoted $108 to replace my AL-Quaida Pigeon damaged front windshield.
