AC removal

Since my SR20DET is out of the car, I'd like to remove the AC. Whats a basic way to do this? Do I just remove the compressor etc., and will I need to replace any parts (belts, wiring etc.) with different pieces?

I just want to make sure I get it right the first time.

I did it too to my sr before installing it, all you have to do to the motor is remove the compressor and mounting bracket...as for the belts you will not have to deal with that either, but i went to heavythrottle.com to get their easy install kit just so i had new belts.

You will also want to take all the unnessary a/c lines out of your engine bay...by not installing the a/c you are saving yourself some work with wiring in the car

Compressor, condensor, accumulator, all the lines, everything can be removed without issue.

Wrong. The IACV does not have any bearing on A/C. The IACV-FICD valve does, but it's part of the IACV and if removed has to be plugged since you'll have a vacuum leak. Most people don't go through the trouble of removing and plugging it since it's more involved to get off and it doesn't matter if it's left in place.

I have a few complete IACVs if you need one, PM me.
