NO, its not. Phantom = Not there.

No-There Grip. Makes sense. For that amount, you can find a decent used LSD, or VLSD.

Hell, since i can tell you're going to skimp on things, weld the diff.

any disadvantages to welding the diff???

If welding diff can achieve a 2way LSD effect, why are there even 2 way LSDs?

I suggest you click on the search button....

welded diff -> 2 way lsd at all times, so no limiste slip, but locked at all time.

Welded the diff makes it 100% locked, ie, a solid 2way.

Advantages : earlier initiation, faster cornering, knowing when it'll slip
Disadvan. : understeer, chirping, and being JDM Tyte.

It says when cornering and braking it act likes a clutch type, and under acceleration it gives power to both wheels. Sounds like a 1.5 way to me. But cheeper. From the looks of the way it was designed, itll probably wear the spider grears down. Give it a try. i

this shit is so old
the phantom grip is a pos
it WILL break under drifting or hard driving circumstances, ist been tested by regular folks, and it failed

quit being cheap and either weld your diff or shell out for a real LSD (hlsd, vlsd, lsd clutch)

actually, isn't it just being stupid? That's more expensive than a junkyard VLSD, and maybe more expensive than a Welded diff

buy it and see how it works. You can learn a good lesson from it. You get what you pay for and dont be cheap with stuff u put on your car. Only cheap mod that have seemed to work fine would be a welded diff.

what's wrong with welded diff?

do a quick search on welded diff, and see if you like it.

I rode in an S13 with welded diff, didn't feel anything awkward, other than... in reverse. hhaaa.

there is no point to weld a diff... me and some freinds tried it on a Rustang(mustang) the gears will weld but the welds crack apart even from the lighest driving. we opened the diff and welded everything that touched and even welded some steel strips onto the gears... but it still cracked like crusty bread.. later we put like half an inch of extra steel into the diff.. it looked like it was fool proof but the power from the four cylinder rustang ripped the welds aprat again... and we ended up buying a junk yard diff to replace the ruined one... it may work on some diffs but running the car hard... it will crack...

educate yourself

Just because you guys suck and welding doesn't mean a GOOD welded diff sucks.

Then don't get welded! Get Phantom grip for your diff. Then when it breaks and owns you I'll laugh because my welded diff will still be working perfectly fine.
Welded diff half assed?

That car doesn't look very half assed, but is still rocking a welded diff.

What exactly makes a welded diff half assed to you? You obviously have no clue what your talking about because you didn't even bother to do a search on phantom grip. So how would you know if welded is "half assed"

EDIT: I refuse to believe that you serached. Found this on the very first page of the search.

Like what was said thousands of times before, one of the only bang for your buck mod would be a welded diff. But forget about welded. Phantom for the win!!

Get 3 or 4 of them so that you wont have to pay more shipping every time one breaks.
