i need a replacement crower rod. . .
I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get a replacement crower ka rod. I would order through crower themselves, but their website advertises a 12-week wait (and for some reasone i believe them), and I can't wait that long. I also tried calling them today to find out if the timeframe was accurate, but when i gave them the part# from their website, they said i needed to specify the size of the big/small end and the weight. wtf??? correct me if i'm wront, but shouldn't the part# specify this?? I doubt anyone knows where to get one (new or lightly used), but if you do please let me know.

most of the time the wait is about 6-8 weeks on rods that are not currently on the shelf, but that 12 week wait is being realistic for them perhaps. the reason they want to know the big/small end weight is so that is will be balanced with the rods you currently have in your engine.

custom rods come in different weights... aka manufacturing tolerances. They included all the weights on a sheet that came with the rods the first time. They're just trying to get you a rod that's balanced perfectly like your original purchase. If you've lost the sheet then measure them.
