KA Exhaust tech question.

I just had to buy the Biggest HKS Hi power Ti universal muffler (170mm) for my 240 yesterday at super autobacs, reason being that It looks cool but I heard that Im prob going to need to run 3inch piping do any of you guys think there is going to be a problem when I go to the muffler shop and tell them to do that because Isnt the flange on the cat that connects to the stock KA24E like only 2.5in????? Either way it going to be a custom job because a friend of mine did the same thing I want to do with a HKS hi power muffler but his was 130mm, he ran a straight pipe from the cat.

considering that the muffler you bought has a 6.75" tip, 3 inch may be all that fits on the inlet side of it. warning to you though: if you have a n/a motor, the 3 inch exhaust may cause a lot more problems than good.

It has been stated a million times and proven with a dyno. Even with NA KA 3 inch exhaust yields better results that 2.5 inch exhaust.

Get mandrel bends and a 3 inch flange and the exaust place should have no prob doing it for you.

i have the ka24de s13 and i am running 3" cat-back. the flange bolts directly up to the cat's flange. It should be the same with the single cam engines.

Get a 22-24" long 3" resonator to go with it or you'll be hating life on the HW.
