factory battery tray

this may sound like a stupid question but how the heck do i get factory tray out? it almost seems to be welded on to the frame but not quite.

anyone got a clue?

it is tac welded to the the frame in spots, i know, i removed it on my old coupe and it was not fun. i just used an air chizzle or however it spelled. and there ya go

there are just spot welds, you can drill them out, air chisel tore my stuff up.

I used a UNIbit to get out the spot welds seemed to work very well once they are drilled it comes right out

imo it's hard to remove it without getting messy, that's from personal experience. but it was my first time.

i bet if you take your time, it can be done nice.. however you will be left with a bunch of holes (if you drill the spotwelds like mentioned above)

drilling spotwelds is the BEST way to do it.. want to get mine out but haven't gotten around to it

we just cut the end of the battery tray off, it was much easier, although sawing through two sheets of metal for the fmic hole was a little tough, i think we broke at least one good blade.
